Our mission is to excel in the creation, dissemination, and application of business knowledge. Our campaign priorities are mission driven.
The capital and endowment campaign provides the
opportunity to take aggressive steps to achieve our transformational
goal of becoming a top 25 public business school. We are committed to
providing the education and enrichment experiences that are expected
of a full-time residential major state university.
Increasing our level of excellence will not only
increase the quality of education we provide our students but also improve
the talent pool available to industries inside and outside the state
of Alabama.
We have identified four areas of capital campaign funding support that will transform the College.
Scholarship Endowments
Our commitment to students includes providing financial support to bring
bright students to campus who might not otherwise have the opportunity,
and empower them with additional education enrichment outside
the classroom.
Faculty Endowments
The College is committed to providing the best education possible for
our students, both undergraduate and graduate. Achieving that goal
will necessitate hiring the best faculty. A high-quality faculty increases
national and international visibility, which improves national rankings,
and helps attract and retain high-quality students.
Technology Endowments
Technology is an ever-increasing presence in education and is proving
to be a powerful tool in attracting the best and brightest students.
An endowment for maintenance and capital expenditures of the Bashinsky
Computer Center and the College’s multimedia classrooms for example,
will ensure that students are taught state-of-the-art business
applications.
Support for Centers of Excellence
There are numerous centers in the College that provide important points where faculty, students, and the business community can meet to explore and analyze research concepts and deliver functional help to participating businesses. Support is needed for each of our 10 centers.

economy, and overall quality of life, that we have a nationally
recognized business school that attracts the brightest minds from
Alabama and across the country. These students will be given the
best instruction from the finest teachers, with the expectation
they will lead our state’s future economic efforts."

"The Culverhouse College of
Commerce is a powerful economic engine and we must make sure it
runs as powerfully as possible. To operate at peak efficiency,
we must have a blend of talented faculty and staff, a bright and
hard-working student body, challenging programs, aggressive support
and outreach centers, and a dedicated network of alumni and business
leaders."
